How we approach pool decks and surrounds
A pool is only as good as the twenty feet around it. That is the part you actually stand on, look at from the kitchen window, and walk barefoot across in August, and it is the part most often left as bare concrete because it was the last thing anyone planned. We design and build the whole surround: the deck, the coping transition, the seat walls, the planting that softens it, the drainage that keeps water off it, and the lighting that makes it usable after dark.
One boundary worth stating plainly, because plenty of contractors will not: the structural shell of a pool is a C-53 swimming pool licence, and ours is C-27 Landscaping. We do not build shells. What we do is everything the shell sits inside, working alongside whoever builds or already built it, so the finished yard reads as one composition rather than a hole with landscaping arranged around it.

We build everything around the pool — deck, coping, walls, drainage, planting, shade, and lighting — and we work alongside the pool contractor rather than pretending their trade is ours.
That is a large share of this work. Cracked or dated decking, coping that has lifted or separated, water pooling against the house, no shade, no lighting, and planting that was never really designed — all of it can be rebuilt around an existing pool without touching the shell. We walk it, price it, and put it in writing at no cost.
Yes, and the earlier the better. Deck elevations, coping heights, equipment placement, and conduit for lighting are all far cheaper to get right before the shell is finished than after. Bring us in while the pool is still on paper and the surround gets designed into the same plan instead of retrofitted around finished work.
Yes, financing is available, and we review the options with your written estimate. Phasing against one drawn plan also works well here: the deck and drainage first, planting and lighting in a later stage.
