Pacific Palisades: a complete landscape, ground up

Pacific Palisades, California · Finished

Silver Leaf Landscape built this Pacific Palisades property as a complete landscape from the ground up: concrete and retaining walls first, then irrigation, then the planting that people actually see. Filmed by our own crew on site.

Built in the right order

This is what a full-property build looks like when it is done in the right order. The concrete and retaining walls go in first because they set the grade everything else lives on. Irrigation follows, buried before a single plant arrives. Only then does the planting go in.

The olive in this clip was craned over the fence and guided into place by hand — the kind of move that looks dramatic on video and is really just careful planning: access mapped in advance, the tree staged for the day the machine was on site, the hole prepared before it arrived.

The privacy screening was planted, staked, and watered in the same week. Screening is the item homeowners are most impatient about, and the one where planting size and establishment care matter most.

What went in, in sequence

  • Concrete and structural hardscape
  • Engineered retaining walls
  • Full irrigation system
  • Mature specimen olive, craned and set
  • Sod laid by hand
  • Privacy screening, planted and staked
