Every Silver Leaf project runs in four steps: a free on-site walk, a drawn plan with materials and planting you approve before work starts, construction in order by one accountable team, and a tuned handover with a care plan. We are a licensed design-build firm in Van Nuys, so the people who draw your landscape are the people who build it.
Free site walk
We walk your property with you, measure, look at grade, drainage, sun, and access, and listen to how you want to live outside. It is free, and there is no obligation after it.
A drawn plan
A clear, colored plan with materials, planting, and lighting selections you approve before work starts, priced in a written estimate so you know the number before anything begins.
Built to the drawing
Grading, then hardscape, then irrigation, then planting, each trade building on the last until the yard matches the plan you approved. The same team that drew it builds it.
Tuned and handed over
Irrigation dialed in, planting established, the site cleaned, and a care plan in your hands so year five looks better than week one.
Why design-build matters
When a designer draws a plan and hands it to whoever bids lowest, the details get lost in the handoff and nobody owns the result. We draw and build under one roof, so the intent survives from paper to the finished yard, and there is one company accountable for it. Process questions
Yes. The site walk and the written estimate are free, and you are not committed to anything after them. We would rather walk a property and be honest about scope than sell you a number over the phone.
We walk the property with you, measure, and look at the things that decide a landscape: grade, drainage, sun, soil, and access. We ask how you actually use the space. You do not need to have decided anything yet.
Yes, that is the point of the drawn plan. You see materials, planting, and lighting on paper and approve it before we build. Nothing gets built that you have not signed off on.
Changes happen on most projects. Bring them up as early as you can, because changes are cheapest before the trade that touches them has started. We will tell you honestly what a change affects in cost and schedule before we do it.
Some landscape work needs permits and inspections, especially pools, some retaining walls, and electrical. When your project needs them, we tell you at the estimate and handle the process. Requirements depend on your city and property, so we confirm the specifics for your site rather than guessing.
Silver Leaf crews with a project leader you can reach directly. You are not passed between an office and a subcontractor who has never seen the drawing.
